I wanted to give the case a rusty effect, but unlike my previous Half-life 2 case, I did not want to rust the entire case - just parts of it.

The case I choose was the Antec 1040 AMG black with 400W PSU.

These are good, strong cases with lots of room inside, as you can see, for extras like my planned watercooling gear.

To begin, I started with a dark grey paint job over the entire case. Ironically, the dark grey paint I used is an industrial “anti-rust” paint!

Here is the PSU as it came - I have a few modifications planned...

To increase the industrial look of the PSU, I screwed on an electrical wiring box and passed the cables through it. I also added another fan on the outside of the PSU casing which not only added to the effect but also had the added benefit of improving the cooling. The judicious use of pop rivets also aided the overall effect.

I painted everything in the case, including the PSU, wire sleeving, etc...
